ARTIST SERVICES
DRAMATURGY IS THE ART OF…
- Directing the writer to generate a script that is viable
- Asking questions about anything that is unclear in the story
- Providing accessible feedback throughout the entire creation process
How it works…
- The Neutral Read… I receive a completed Playwright Information Sheet. (Please see attached.) I read your script straight through and make primary notes reflecting my gut impressions. (2 hours)
- The Red Pen… During my second and third reads, I formulate questions and deeper notes about everything that is unclear in terms of genre, style, period, theme, action, character, plot, structure, audience or venue. Also, I highlight finishing notes in your script, pertaining to details like punctuation and formatting. (3 to 4 hours)
- The Meeting… is in person or over the phone and usually lasts an hour or more. We will answer to all of the above, review methods for fostering new ideas and set a deadline for your next draft. You also receive a copy of my notes for your future reference. (1 to 2 hours)
My fee…
- $120/day, based on 6-8 hours outlined above, up to 120 pages,
- $60/day, based on 4 hours for each subsequent read of the same script
- The fee includes a copy of “Work Hard to Make Things Easy”, a 25 page document of well organized notes on methods I practice
